Harper's Federal Deficit Deceit

I was quite amused by Stephen Harper out campaigning today, invoking the free-spending ways of the 1972-74 Trudeau government in a recent speech. How rich. I did a little Googling and found, at a tidily-kempt, USask-based blog called The Bolt, with a great writeup on Canada’s deficit and surplus spending over the past 20 years or so, and results translated into real dollars as well as percentage. Check it out here; the graph speaks for itself. (By the way, why can’t our federal Finance department offer up these kinds of graphs??)

Mr. Harper best can this line of talking points or he’s going to get tooled by reporters or the opposition.
